Kiwanis Kingston Classic Press Release

Kingston, New York – The Kiwanis Club of Kingston is proud to present the Kiwanis Kingston Classic.  The race will be held Sunday, April 17th, at 1:00 p.m. at Dietz Stadium.  The 10K course is USATF certified and there will also be a 2.1 mile Fun Run.  New to the race this year is the Team Challenge.  Groups, schools and organizations can compete against each other to win the Mayor’s Cup trophy. Also new this year is the creation of Fan Zones.  Ten Fan Zones will be set along the race course for the purpose of encouraging and motivating the runners as they pass.  Zones will compete against each other for the chance to win a cash award for charity.  Saturday night, April 16th, runners registered for the next day’s Classic can carb-load with competitors.   Join fellow runners for camaraderie, pasta, music and sports expos.  Awards, food and music will follow the race on Sunday.  Pre-registration for the Kingston Classic is $20, $25 the day of the event.  Students receive a $5 discount on both days.  Proceeds benefit local Kiwanis youth funds, including scholarships for local students.  For more information please contact Race Director Greg Riley at (845)514-4654 or visit the comprehensive website at www.kiwaniskingstonclassic.com  Find us on Facebook.
